This listing is for a vintage Japanese kimono. The rural garden and thatched roof hut patterning was created with a paste resist applied by hand. No stencil work here - just yards of brushwork from a kimono artisan.

The background is a tealy blue, with brown accent on random petals and leaves - further supporting the notion that this design was completed by hand. There's a bit to silver and gold leaf applied as well.

Nice soft drape to the silk. A few light blemishes here and there but they do not detract from the wonderful wearability of this kimono.
