This listing is for 56 inches (1yd 20in) of vintage Japanese kimono fabric. Normally we would cut the remnants down to 36in pieces but this fabric would make a beautiful noren curtain, so we kept the lengthas much as possible.

Summetime in Japan is hot and humid, so semi-sheer silks like this are prized for being light an airy, which provides a cooling effect as the air passes through the light layers.

A semi-sheer bright royal purple borders a central, more heavily woven band of white and maroon patterning of the seigaiha (overlapping waves) motif. 

Note that this yardage comes from deconstructed vintage Japanese kimono, so the width is just over 14" but seamlines are likely.  As a vintage fabric, this yardage may have slight blemishes, seamlines, and the like, so it is best for piecework.-------
