Chrysanthemums, plum blossoms, and paulownia emerge throughout in \u003cem\u003ekanoko\u003c\/em\u003e (fawn spot) shibori, embroidery, and gold couching, while a woven mirrored crane jacquard adds another layer of auspicious symbolism, including longevity, resilience, and good fortune.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eThe dramatic asymmetrical design, traditional handwork, and vivid red silk lining strongly point to this furisode dating from the Taisho period (1912-1926).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eSigns of age are present, including light wear, minor spots, or subtle discoloration from age and use, see last photo(s).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eFurisode are worn for formal events, such as\u003cem\u003e Seijin-no-hi\u003c\/em\u003e (Coming of Age Day, sometimes translated as Adults Day) in early January.
