Beneath the shibori, the silk is richly woven with a subtle jacquard of flowers, flowing ribbons, and traditional lucky treasures, adding a hidden layer of auspicious imagery associated with happiness, prosperity, and good fortune.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eBecause of the smaller size and the attached pink, narrow tie that is stitched to the back to keep the kimono closed, we assume this was made for a young girl.  The ties could be easily removed if desired for display.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eThere are signs of age, with one small blemish on the front, see last photo.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eUnderkimono make wonderful robes because they are cut shorter than outer kimono, so they do not have the extra length that is typically folded at the waist for traditional dressing.
