This listing is for a vintage Japanese kinchaku (drawstring) purse. These are a prized accessory for a kimono-clad woman even today. They're typically made with kimono fabric, have a flat base, and tend to be used for casual, rather than formal, occasions.

This bag has a rectangular flat bottom covered in the same fabric as the pouch. This bag is a bright Japanese red with vertical chain-like bands that look to us like abstract butterflies.  White, blue, and yellow accent colors.

Orange cording is threaded through the sewn loops at the top to cinch the bag closed.

Lined. Excellent condition.
