If you or a loved one was born in the Year of the Rat, (2008, 1996, 1984, 1972, 1960, 1948, 1936, 1924) this haori has an auspicious meaning. Deep, rich colors and an interesting combination of designs on the lining contrasts nicely with the solid black outside. Single, embroidered floral crest located at the neck. The more decorated lining has a banded background of mottled green specks and horizontal brush strokes in golden browns. Hand painted design on top includes small white rats climbing and scurrying across an abacus and receipt book - rats are supposed to be very thrifty, perfectionists, and charming.
