Ordering - Here's how it works

To order any items pictured on the site:

Remember, each item is one-of-a-kind, and it's first come, first served - the kimono you like today may be gone tomorrow. Before we process your payment, we'll confirm your item is available (occasionally two people order the same item on the same day!) and you will hear from us within 24 hours if we cannot fill your order for any reason. If you would prefer to give us your card number over the phone, just email us with your phone number, time zone, and the best time to call you. If you prefer to pay by check, email us first so we can hold the item for you (for up to seven days once you've mailed the check).A word on "condition":
As vintage items, these Japanese treasures are all pre-owned, with various degrees of wear; some look brand new, others have signs of how much their previous Japanese owners loved them.

Excellent condition means "like new, few or no signs of previous use"
Very Good = perhaps some fading, small blemishes, hardly noticible
Good = somewhat "broken in" in terms of small-but-noticible discolorations, still wearable. (I don't clean or press them to keep handling and costs down - some discolorations might come out with dry cleaning...but no guarantees.)
If you are not happy with your order, you can always return the item within seven days for a refund or credit towards another purchase.

A word about sizing....
- Full length kimonos may appear to be "too long to wear", but they are meant to be gathered at the waist so that once they're belted, the top blouses out a bit.
- Most of the pieces shown here were tailor-made for their owner, so there are no "small-medium-large" sizes. Kimonos, which are meant to close in the front, may not fit American sizes over 16. Haori, on the other hand, are jackets and do not need to close in the front.
-Typical length of the kimono is 54-59 inches, which is fine for heights up to around 5'9" on thin-to-medium sized frame.
